I got issues, but you got them, too.

Hi everyone! I'm Colin, a neighbor, a teacher, an advocate for many. I'm not a politician. This isn't a career for me. I don't plan on running for president. But, I have a vision for our city, a vision that makes Broomfield better.
My campaign is you. My campaign is representing you and your concerns. I intend to lead with integrity, transparency, and residents first in mind. I believe that every voice matters and that together, we can create a better Broomfield.
Key Issues Facing Broomfield
As I campaign, I've become very aware of the key issues facing Broomfield. I've witnessed it all, the same as you. Some of the more pressing concerns voiced by your neighbors were:
Poor Leadership: Current council members are disconnected from the residents of Broomfield. They have no idea what their policies are doing and its hurting residents. Policies driven by the current agenda have led to 34% loss of economic strength, 37% loss of businesses, yet a 136% increase in spending. 64% of residents say that we are on the wrong track or unsure about what's going on. WE NEED NEW LEADERSHIP!
Fiscal Responsibility: The City's debt is growing uncontrollably, and the current solution is to pass that on to residents through taxes, fees and service rates. We are throwing money down the drain on programs that help no one and actively adding to the debt. Records show a $242 million shortfall... HOW?!
Government Overreach: The sitting council loves to tell you how to live in Broomfield, but will not work to improve your life. Government should not tell you how to live your life, spend your money, and use your services. We need new leadership that will roll back restrictive policies.
Transparency: The sitting council will not tell you what they are planning or spending, and good luck trying to find out! They have broken the trust of the public. They have lost integrity at meetings, implement policy without serious consideration, high budget proposals, and abandon constituents when the inevitable consequences arise. What is going on here? PULL BACK THE CURTAIN!
Utilities: Did we all see our water bills jump like crazy? Water infrastructure has been run down into the ground requiring a last minute overhaul. Water tower projects has been defunded, prices on tap fees and water rates increased. We already have the highest water rates in the front range and it's all expected to continue increasing water rates up to 148% in the next 4 years.
Housing: It costs over $600,000 to build a house in Broomfield. At least 14% of that is regulations, taxes, and fees. Housing is not affordable. Housing affordability has decrease 8% in the last 3 years, overall cost of living is up 32%, and it's all policy driven. Sitting council is actively making it harder to build in Broomfield.
By addressing these issues, I aim to create a brighter future for Broomfield.
My Vision for Broomfield
I envision a Broomfield where everyone has access to essential services, green spaces, and opportunities for growth. Here are key areas on which I want to focus:
Community Engagement: I want to ensure that all residents are heard by council and vote in the people's interest.
Economic Development: I want the vibrant local economy on which Broomfield built itself. We will support small businesses and attract new investments to Broomfield.
Sustainable Development: I am committed to promoting sustainable practices in our city that encourage growth and maintain our beautiful open spaces.
Public Safety: Ensuring the safety of Broomfield residents is a top priority. We will continue to support law enforcement to enhance community safety measures.
Affordable Housing: I understand the importance of affordable housing because I live in unaffordable housing. I will advocate for policies that support housing options for all income levels and remove harmful policies that drive up the cost of living.
I hope you see these initiatives as our dedication to making Broomfield a better place for everyone.
